June 24, 2010 @ The LC Pavilion
311 continues to be one of the premiere hybrid bands and continues to stay true to its positive and uplifting feel, both in the music and lyrics. Their blend of rock, reggae, and hip hop has resulted in a diverse and large audience that shares a common love for their music and vibe. Once again on the road with the Unity Tour, 311 will be coming to Columbus in late June, along with supporting act, Pepper. Attending a 311 show is always a good time, as the energy both on stage and in the crowd is contagious and downright fun. Previous tours have included Snoop Dog, The Roots, O.A.R., Matisyahu, and Ziggy Marley.
The band was initially started during the early nineties in Omaha, Nebraska by Nick Hexum, SA Martinez, Tim Mahoney, P-Nut, and Chad Sexton. Two years later, the group put all their belongings in a storage space and lived on the road, touring non-stop for years and developing a grassroots following and strong concert draw. Their first song to hit number one was "Down" (off the band's self-titled third album) and it was this success that finally gave 311 the attention of the mainstream media. The band has never looked back and continues to grow their success through hard work, a positive attitude, and great music.
Over the course of their career, 311 has sold over eight million records with six albums reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard Sales Chart. In addition to "Down," seven more singles have reached the Top 10, with two of those ("Love Song" and "Don't Tread On Me") going to number one.
311 will be performing at The LC Pavilion on June 24. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster for only $35 each. For more information, merchandise, and band media, visit them online at www.311.com.
